Community

Belmont School is located in the northeast part of Edmonton and serves students from the Belmont and Kernohan communities.  Our programs includes the Community Program, Community Learning Skills Program and the Logos Christian Program. We are proud to program for all of our students including students with special education needs and our English Language Learners (ELL), in inclusive settings.  Working towards a collaborative partnership, stakeholders are encouraged to be active supports and participants in their childrens educational experiences.

Belmont is a neighbourhood in northeast Edmonton, part of the Clareview area. It’s bordered by 3 major roads and Kennedale Ravine. People settled here in the 1880s, and the land was  subdivided in 1912. Belmont became part of Edmonton in 1961. Belmont has schools, parks, walking and biking paths, and is close to the LRT.  Belmont was known for the Belmont Drive-In Theatre, which was destroyed by a tornado in 1987. The name "Belmont" comes from French words meaning "beautiful mountain,” But, being in Edmonton, it’s more like “beautiful hill!"
